Quality Control at Borlan Machinery: Our Promise to Global Clients

When you source industrial components from overseas, one question is always at the forefront: Can I trust the quality? At Borlan Fluid Machinery (Wenzhou Borlan Fluid Tech Co., Ltd.), our answer is built into every stage of our manufacturing process. Quality control isn’t a final checkpoint — it’s a culture embedded in everything we do, from the raw materials we select to the moment your order leaves our facility.

Here is a transparent look at how we uphold our quality promise to clients around the world.

1. Raw Material Selection: Quality Starts at the Source

Every Borlan product begins with the careful selection of raw materials. We exclusively use food-grade and industrial-grade 304 and 316L stainless steel, sourced from certified domestic suppliers. Before any material enters our production line, it undergoes incoming quality inspection (IQI), including:

  • Material composition verification
  • Surface finish assessment
  • Dimensional tolerance checks

By controlling quality at the input stage, we eliminate the most common root cause of product failure before manufacturing even begins.

2. In-Process Quality Control: Precision at Every Step

Our production floor operates under strict in-process quality control (IPQC) protocols. At each key manufacturing stage — including casting, machining, polishing, and assembly — our quality technicians conduct systematic inspections.

For our flagship products such as sanitary sight glass lights, sintered sight glasses, and hygienic valves, this includes:

  • Dimensional accuracy checks using calibrated calipers and gauges
  • Surface roughness verification to meet Ra ≤ 0.8μm sanitary standards
  • Thread and clamp connection fit testing to ensure leak-proof assembly
  • Visual inspection for surface defects, scratches, or contamination

This multi-stage inspection process ensures that no defective component advances to the next production step.

3. Pressure & Leak Testing: Zero Tolerance for Failure

For fluid control components, pressure integrity is non-negotiable. Every Borlan valve, fitting, and sight glass assembly undergoes hydrostatic pressure testing before shipment. Our standard testing protocol includes:

  • Pressurization to 1.5× the rated working pressure
  • Minimum hold time of 30 minutes under test pressure
  • Full inspection for any signs of leakage, deformation, or seal failure

Only components that pass this rigorous test are cleared for packaging and delivery.

4. CE Certification: Meeting International Standards

Borlan Fluid Machinery holds CE certification for our sight glass light product series (including models BL401-1, BL401-3, BL401-3D, BL301-2, and others), in compliance with:

  • EN 60598-1:2015 (Luminaires)
  • EN 60079-0:2018 (Explosive atmospheres)
  • EN 60529:1991/A1:2000 (IP protection)
  • 2014/35/EU Low Voltage Directive
  • 2014/30/EU Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive

(Certification No. TD19412401, valid through April 2027)

This certification is not just a document — it is evidence that our products have been evaluated against the most demanding European safety and performance standards, giving our global clients the confidence to specify Borlan components in regulated environments.

5. Final Inspection & Packaging: The Last Line of Defense

Before any order is packed, our quality assurance (QA) team conducts a final outgoing quality control (OQC) inspection. This includes:

  • Verification of product model, specifications, and quantity against the purchase order
  • Final visual and dimensional inspection
  • Proper labeling and documentation (including CE declarations where applicable)
  • Protective packaging to prevent damage during international transit

We understand that receiving a damaged or incorrect shipment thousands of miles from our factory is not just inconvenient — it is costly. Our packaging standards reflect that understanding.

6. Continuous Improvement: We Never Stop Raising the Bar

At Borlan, quality control is not a static system. We actively collect feedback from our global clients and use it to drive continuous improvement across our processes. Whether it’s refining a surface finish specification or updating a test protocol, we are committed to evolving alongside the needs of our customers and the industries they serve.
