External Lighting for Sight Glass Inspection

The Borlan Fluid BL301-2 is a bracket-mounted LED spotlight for illuminating an existing sight glass from outside the vessel. It helps operators direct light toward the viewing area when ambient lighting is insufficient for the inspection task. The lamp and mounting bracket form a separate lighting assembly; a sight glass can be specified separately when a complete arrangement is required.

The standard electrical configuration accepts 12–24V AC or DC, with 8W, 15W and 20W power options. Other supply voltages can be requested as a custom configuration. A side-mounted push button is included in the standard configuration shown in the product photo.

Reference Dimensions

The current Borlan Fluid catalog shows the following reference dimensions for the bracket-mounted BL301-2 outline. All dimensions are in millimetres.

The catalog drawing also marks L2, while its numeric table is headed L3. This page does not invent an L2 value. Obtain an approved drawing if this distinction affects fabrication.

These are catalog reference dimensions. The final size can vary with the selected power, electrical interface and customized configuration. Please request and approve the configuration-specific drawing before machining a mounting point.

Standard Supply and Optional Accessories

The standard package includes the BL301-2 lamp and mounting bracket. The sight glass assembly and external power supply are not included as standard. Both can be specified as optional items. Please identify the items you require when requesting a quotation so that the proposed supply scope is clear.

If you already have a sight glass, send its mounting dimensions and a photo showing the space around the viewing window. If you need a new sight glass as well, include the medium, operating pressure, temperature, required viewing size and connection details. These conditions are used to select the sight glass assembly separately from the external lamp.

Selecting the Power and Mounting Arrangement

Tell us what you need to observe, the distance from the lamp to the viewing window, the vessel depth and whether the contents are clear, cloudy or opaque. These details help assess the lighting arrangement. Electrical wattage alone does not specify the useful illumination at the observation point.

Before ordering, confirm the supply voltage, AC or DC source, selected wattage, mounting hole or fixing details, available clearance and required operating duration. Request the drawing for the selected configuration before finalizing your mounting design. Custom voltage requirements should be agreed before production; use the supply specified for the delivered unit.

Hazardous-Area Configuration

For hazardous-area enquiries, please state the required certification and area classification. Chinese explosion-protection certificate CLEx22.7907 documents a BL301-2 DC 24V, 20W unit and allows the same construction at DC 12–24V, 15–20W, with marking Ex db IIC T6 Gb.
